Maggie Stanfield, maggie@writtenwords.co.uk
Chief Executive

Maggie is a highly skilled writer and media strategist. She established Written Words two years after being head-hunted from Northern Ireland to Edinburgh by the late Business a.m. She came into journalism as the BBC's youngest producer on graduating in English from Queen's University. She freelanced across the Irish papers in politics, health and the environment before moving to the Northern Ireland Office. Producer of the acclaimed Omnibus magazine, Maggie was closely involved in the visit of President Bill Clinton and in The Good Friday Agreement.

Sir Mark Tully, mark@writtenwords.co.uk
Writer and broadcaster
Mark is that legendary Voice of India, almost worshipped on the sub-continent, and is equally familiar back in the UK. Mark Tully was knighted in 2001 for his services to broadcasting. He continues to broadcast Something Understood each week to highly appreciative audiences, and to make regular appearances on From our own Correspondent and Start the Week. His writing skills as a journalist and author of India in Slow Motion, The Heart of India, No Full Stops in India and Lives of Jesus are renowned. He divides his time between Delhi and London, travelling widely on a range of broadcast and writing projects.

Fiona McCade, fiona@writtenwords.co.uk
Humorist and travel writer
Fiona spent her childhood trying to run the National Theatre of Yorkshire from her parents' garage, but failed to attract Sir Laurence Olivier. She secured several professional acting roles on stage, in small film productions, some television parts and a great deal of temping. The highlight of her acting career to date has been starring as Emma Peel of The Avengers in a stage production pre-Uma Thurman but very post-Diana Rigg. She now lives in Edinburgh and has discovered another talent: she can write fabulous humour and is a regular columnist with The Scotsman. She's also a familiar voice on BBC Radio Scotland and well known for her off-the-wall travel writing.
